How much does ScrambleSync cost?
Pay $149 per event, or go unlimited. Season is $790/year (billed annually) for unlimited tournaments all year. Pro is $240/month ($2,400/year) and adds the Scramble AI assistant. What is the Scramble AI assistant?
An in-app assistant for organizers, included with Pro. Ask about your event in plain language (“who's leading?”, “which teams aren't checked in?”) and it answers from your live data — and, with a one-tap confirm, it'll check teams in, move a starting hole, fix a score, sub a player, or message the whole field, even several at once. It only ever sees your own event, and your data is never used to train AI models (details at /legal/ai).
What golf formats does ScrambleSync support?
Scramble is the heart of it, with shotgun-start pairings and USGA matching-card tiebreakers — but you can also run best-ball, four-ball, alternate shot, greensomes, and individual stroke play, and rank by Gross, Net, Stableford, or Modified Stableford (show one board or several side by side). On Pro, run single-elimination match play with seeded brackets. Split the field into flights/divisions by handicap and capture handicaps per player — or compute a one-day handicap for a casual field with Callaway or Peoria, no index or GHIN number needed — and let each golfer self-enter their own scores in per-player formats. Plus skins, closest-to-the-pin, longest drive, and custom side games — skins winners calculated automatically from the live scores.
Is there a free plan for charity tournaments?

How long does setup take for a new tournament?
Under 10 minutes for the basics — create the event, bulk-import teams, set the shotgun start, and generate pairings. Add sponsors and side games when you have time.
Do players need to download anything?
No. ScrambleSync runs entirely in the phone's browser. They can add it to the home screen for an app-like icon, but nothing is required.
Can I invite golfers by text message?
Yes. Text-to-RSVP SMS invites are available now. Each golfer gets a text with a link — one tap to confirm their spot, no app or account needed. Every message includes a reply-STOP opt-out. The feature is off by default; you turn it on per event.
What happens on holes with no cell signal?
Scores save locally and queue for sync. The player always sees what's saved versus synced, and the back nine with no bars stops being a problem.
How does cheating prevention work?
The captain digitally signs to lock the card, which prevents edits. An audit engine then surfaces suspicious patterns — bulk entries, statistical outliers, post-sign changes — as a director alert. You decide what to do with the flag.
Can sponsors do more than show a banner?
Yes. Each sponsor gets a code-gated portal: view the field, run their closest-to-pin or long-drive contest, upload a logo and ad copy, and report anything unusual. You set it up once; they handle the rest.
