Demo account limits
Quick answer
A demo account has one ready-made event on one fixed course, Old Mill Golf Course, using the front nine (holes 1 to 9). The event can have up to 4 golfers and up to 4 teams or scorecards. Access lasts 30 days from the day you press Start my demo. These limits are the same for every demo and can't be changed.

Demos are kept small on purpose so you can see how ScrambleSync works in an afternoon. Here is everything that is limited, in one place.

The limits

What isn't limited
- Anyone can watch. The leaderboard, wallboard and public event page can be viewed by as many people as you like. Only scoring is capped.
- Your event is fully live. Scores are real scores, nothing in the event is read-only, and nothing is reset overnight.
- Series, Scramble AI, brackets and sponsor packages are included.
Anything that moves money, changes billing, contacts real people or hands out your data is switched off. See the list below.
What is switched off in a demo

When you try one of these you'll see "Not available in a demo account". If we can't check your account at that moment you'll see "Please try again in a moment." Both mean the same thing: this needs a real account.

Frequently asked questions
Can I choose a different course for my demo?
No. Every demo uses Old Mill Golf Course, front nine. A real account lets you pick any course.
Can I play 18 holes in a demo?
No. Demos are limited to 9 holes (holes 1 to 9).
Can I have more than 4 golfers?
Not in a demo. A demo event has up to 4 golfers and 4 teams. A real account has no such limit.
Can I make a second event?
No. A demo has one event, and yours is already set up.
Why does it say Not available in a demo account?
Payments, billing, email and text to real people, contacts, team members, API access and exports are switched off in a demo. Start a real account to use them.
Will my demo email my golfers?
No. A demo never sends email or texts to real people, so a practice event can't reach anyone by mistake.
Can I turn on donations in my demo?
No. Payments and donations are switched off in a demo. When you start a real account, email [email protected] and we'll turn donations on for your account on request.
