What is a ScrambleSync demo account?
Quick answer
A demo account is a private place to try ScrambleSync before you commit. We send you an invite by email. You press two buttons, set a password and land on one event that is already set up, with room for 4 golfers to score on a 9-hole course. It lasts 30 days from the day you press Start my demo, and it never costs anything.

Overview
A demo account lets you run a real mini-tournament on ScrambleSync without paying or entering a card. It isn't a video or a slideshow. You and up to 3 friends can score on your phones and watch the leaderboard update live.
Who this is for
Golf course staff, charity organizers and anyone else who received a demo invite from ScrambleSync. Demo accounts are by invitation only. You can't sign up for one yourself.
Getting into your demo
Open your invite email
Look for "Your ScrambleSync demo is ready". Press Open my demo.
Press Start my demo
A page called Start your ScrambleSync demo opens. Press Start my demo. Your 30 days begin now. Opening the email alone changes nothing.
Open the sign-in email
We email a second message, "Your ScrambleSync demo sign-in link", to the same address. Press Open my demo in it and choose a password. That link works for one hour. After that, sign in the usual way.
Open your event
Your demo already has one event, called DEMO · Your first scramble, set up at Old Mill Golf Course. Nothing to build.
Add your golfers
The event starts with a team of four placeholder golfers named Golfer 1 to Golfer 4. Share the team code or QR code with up to four people and have them try scoring from a phone.
What you can try
- Score a hole on a phone and watch it appear on the leaderboard.
- Put the live leaderboard on a big screen with the wallboard.
- Look at the public event page that golfers and fans would see.
- Try the iPhone app or the web scoring page as a golfer.
To see exactly what is and isn't included, read Demo account limits.
Troubleshooting
| If you see this | Try this |
|---|---|
| This link has run out | Demo links work for two weeks. Reply to your invite email and we'll send a new one. |
| Check your email | That's the page after Start my demo. We sent a sign-in link to the address your invite went to. It works for one hour. If it runs out, press the button in your first email again and we'll send a new one. |
| Please try again in a minute | Too many tries at once. Wait a minute, then press the button in your first email again. A new sign-in link can be sent once a minute. |
| We couldn't open your demo | Something went wrong on our side. Press the button in your first email again, or reply to it and we'll sort it out. |
| This demo has been turned off | Reply to your invite email if you'd like it turned back on. |
| We couldn't find that demo link | Make sure you used the whole link from the email, or reply and we'll send a new one. |
Frequently asked questions
Can I sign up for a demo myself?
No. Demo accounts are invite-only. If you'd like one, email [email protected].
I pressed Start my demo but no email came
The sign-in link goes only to the address your invite was sent to, so check that inbox and your spam folder. Then press the button in your first email again to get a new one (we can send one a minute). If you forwarded the invite, the person you sent it to can press the button but can't sign in, because the link never goes to them.
Does a demo cost anything?
No. There is no payment and no card is needed.
Is my demo reset every night?
No. Your private invite demo is yours for 30 days and nothing is reset or cleared along the way. That is different from the public sample tournament at scramblesync.com/demo, which is reseeded every day for visitors to try.
