The demo banner and starting a real account

Quick answer

While you're in a demo account, a banner across the top of every page says Demo account and shows how many days you have left. It can't be dismissed. The Start a real account button on it takes you to the regular sign-up page. A real account is separate from your demo, so your demo event doesn't carry over.

Overview

The banner is how you can always tell you're in a demo and not running a real tournament.

Who this is for

Anyone trying a demo account who is thinking about moving to a real one.

What the banner says

At the top of every page you'll see: Demo account. Try it with up to 4 golfers on one 9-hole event. Next to it is a count such as 12 days left, or 1 day left near the end. The count appears once you've opened your invite.

You can't close the banner. It stays on every page of your demo, including settings.

What golfers and fans see

Golfers' score pages, the public event page and the wallboard show a green strip reading Demo event — not a real tournament, so nobody mistakes your practice event for a real one.

Starting a real account

1. 1

   Press Start a real account

It's in the banner. It opens the regular sign-up page.

2. 2

   Pick a plan

A real account is a separate account with its own plan. Your demo isn't upgraded in place.

3. 3

   Set up your real event

Your demo event doesn't carry over. You'll create your real event from scratch, with any course and any number of golfers. Donations aren't on automatically on a real account either. Email [email protected] and we'll turn donations on for your account on request, then you can turn them on per event.

Tips

• You don't have to wait until the demo ends. You can start a real account at any time and keep using your demo until it runs out.
• Need more time before you decide? Email [email protected] and we can add days.
