Fundraising receipts and reporting
Quick answer
ScrambleSync emails payment acknowledgment receipts to donors and auction winners automatically — but only after you configure your organization's legal name, Tax ID / EIN, and address in Settings → Receipt settings. Fundraising totals are visible on the Donations tab. There is no one-click full-event export today; use the CSV exports on the Registration and Donations tabs for reporting.

Configuring receipt settings
Receipts are off until you set up your organization's details. This is a one-time setup at the account level (not per-tournament).
Go to Settings → Receipt settings
From the main dashboard, open Settings and find Receipt settings (requires admin or manager role).
Enter your organization details
Fill in your legal organization name, Tax ID / EIN, and mailing address. All three fields are required to enable receipts.
Enable receipts
Toggle receipts on and save. From this point forward, ScrambleSync will email receipts automatically when a donation is paid or an auction winner is locked.
What receipts are sent
| Trigger | Who receives it | What it includes |
|---|---|---|
| Donation paid | Donor (by email at checkout) | Org name, Tax ID, address, donor name, date, amount |
| Auction winner locked | Winner (by email used when bidding) | Org name, Tax ID, address, item name, amount paid, fair market value, potentially deductible amount |
Viewing fundraising totals
The Donations tab shows total donations raised and donor count at the top. A donor table lists every donation with name, email, amount, and status. Click Export CSV on the Registration tab to download a full list of all registrations and add-on purchases with amounts.
What is not built yet
There is no single all-in-one fundraising report that combines donations, add-on sales, and auction results into one download. To compile a full picture, export the Donations CSV, the Registrations CSV (which includes add-ons), and note auction totals manually from the Auction sub-tab under Contests.
Frequently asked questions
Can donors view or print their own receipt?
Yes. The receipt email includes a link to a web receipt page where the donor can view and print the acknowledgment. The link is HMAC-signed so only the donor can access it.
What if I enabled receipts after some donations were already collected?
Receipts are sent at the time of the trigger (donation paid, winner locked). Enabling receipts does not retroactively send receipts for transactions that already occurred.
Do auction winners get a receipt if the FMV was not entered?
Yes — the receipt is sent, but the deductible amount will show as $0 with a note that the fair market value was not provided. Enter FMV on auction items before locking winners for the most complete receipt.
