GPS map not loading or location blocked
Quick answer
The GPS map requires your browser to have location permission for scramblesync.com. If you see "Location access blocked", you previously denied location access. Follow the steps below for your browser to re-enable it, then tap "Try again" on the map screen.
On this page
Fix on iPhone / iPad (Safari)
Open the Settings app
Go to the Settings app on your iPhone or iPad — not the Safari settings inside the browser.

Scroll down and tap Privacy & Security, then tap Location Services.
Find Safari in the list
Scroll through the app list and tap Safari.
Set location to "While Using"
Choose "While Using the App" (not "Never").

Fix on Android (Chrome)
Tap the lock icon in the address bar
While on the ScrambleSync /play page, tap the lock (or info) icon to the left of the URL.
Tap Permissions → Location → Allow
Tap Permissions in the popup, find Location, and set it to Allow.
Tap Try Again
The page will prompt you — tap "Try again" to restart the GPS.
Map loads but shows no hole information
If your location is found but the hole yardages don't appear, the organizer may not have GPS coordinates configured for this course. Contact your tournament organizer — they can add hole coordinates in their tournament setup.
Frequently asked questions
I allowed location but the map still shows "Locating you…"
This usually means the GPS signal is weak. Make sure you're outdoors and away from structures that block satellite signal. Try tapping Try Again after moving to a more open area.
Does ScrambleSync track my location after the round?
No. Location is only used while the /play page is open to display your position on the hole map. We do not store or transmit GPS coordinates to our servers.
The GPS worked earlier but stopped mid-round
Your browser may have timed out or lost permission mid-session. Tap "Try again" on the map overlay. If your device locked and Safari terminated background GPS, you may need to reload the page.
