Scores aren't showing on the leaderboard
Quick answer
ScrambleSync saves scores locally on the golfer's device first, then syncs them to the server when there's a connection. If a score isn't on the leaderboard, it's usually waiting in the outbox due to no signal, or it was entered on a different hole than expected. Check signal strength and make sure the score was submitted — not just typed in.

How scoring works
When a golfer enters a score on the /play page, it's saved to their device immediately (offline-first). A background process then uploads it to the server. Once uploaded, the leaderboard updates for everyone. The golfer's scoring screen shows a brief "All scores saved" message when the outbox is empty.
Step 1: Check signal strength
Golf courses often have poor or no cellular signal on certain holes. Scores accumulate in the outbox and sync automatically when signal returns — typically when the golfer walks toward the clubhouse or gets closer to a Wi-Fi access point. No action is needed unless the round ends without signal being restored.
Step 2: Confirm the score was submitted
Typing a score into the field is not enough — the golfer must also advance to the next hole (by swiping or tapping the next hole button) or explicitly save the entry. Scores that are typed but not confirmed stay pending on that hole's entry screen.
Step 3: Check leaderboard sort order
The leaderboard sorts teams by score-to-par, not by how many holes are complete. A team that has entered 16 holes may appear below a team that has entered all 18 if they're scoring worse relative to par. "Complete" is only used as a tiebreaker between teams with the same score-to-par.
Organizer: manually entering a team's score
If a team can't score digitally (paper cards, no device), you can enter their score manually from the organizer dashboard. Go to your tournament, open the Scoreboard tab, and look for the manual score entry option. You can enter the team's total or go hole-by-hole.
Frequently asked questions
Scores synced but the leaderboard still looks wrong — is there a way to refresh it?
The leaderboard updates automatically via real-time broadcast. Try a hard reload (pull-to-refresh on mobile, or Shift+Reload on desktop). If the issue persists, check that the correct scoring format is configured in your tournament settings.
Can two devices score for the same team at the same time?
Yes. If two golfers on the same team are both entering scores, the most recently synced score for each hole wins. Coordinate within the team to avoid conflicting entries.
A hole shows a score on the golfer's device but not the leaderboard
The score is in the outbox waiting for signal. As long as the /play page stays open, it will sync when connectivity returns. Do not close the browser tab until all scores have synced.
