Text-to-RSVP invites

Quick answer

Admin and Manager see Text invite on the Players page only when texting is turned on for ScrambleSync and at least one player has a phone number. It texts every player who has a phone number a link. One tap marks them attending. The message says to reply STOP to opt out. Players do not need an app or an account. There is no per-event switch, and Settings does not have one either.

Send the texts

   Add phone numbers

   On the Players page, put a phone number on each player you want to text. Players with no phone number are left out.

   Open Players

   You need to be an Admin or a Manager. When texting is turned on and at least one player has a phone number, Text invite shows that count. If no player has a phone number, the button is not there. Check-in staff do not see it.

   Send invites

   Tap Text invite, then Send invites. Players who are already marked attending are skipped. The button texts everyone with a phone number at once — you do not pick them one by one.

What the golfer sees

The text names the event and includes a link, plus the line “Reply STOP to opt out.” Tapping the link opens a page that says they are in, and marks them attending. Tapping it again says the spot is already confirmed. A link that is invalid or expired says the invitation was not found and asks them to contact the organizer.

When Text invite is missing

There is no per-event switch for texting, and Settings does not have one either. The button is also missing when no player has a phone number — add one on Players and it appears. Check-in staff never see the button. If you are an Admin or a Manager, at least one player has a phone number, and Text invite is still missing, texting is turned off for ScrambleSync. You cannot turn it on from the event. Email [email protected]. Sending a lot of texts in a short time can also pause sending and ask you to wait a moment.
