Quick answer
Use the Teams tab to create teams and assign starting holes. Use the Players tab to manage individual player details and team assignments. You can add players one at a time, bulk-import from a CSV file, or let online registration populate your roster automatically.

The Teams tab
In your tournament sidebar, click Teams (under the Setup group). This is where you manage teams, starting holes, and cart sign generation. Each team gets a unique join code automatically when created.
Generating teams automatically
Click Generate teams
Enter the number of teams you want. ScrambleSync creates teams with names and assigns each one a unique starting hole for a shotgun format.
Review hole assignments
Each team is shown its starting hole and sequence. You can drag teams to reassign starting holes, or edit a team's hole directly.
Print cart signs or tee sheet
Click Cart Signs to design and print a sign for every team, or click Tee Sheet to get a printable list of all teams, holes, and join codes.
Adding teams manually
Below the generate button, click Add team to add teams one at a time. Give each team a name and assign a starting hole. Use this approach when you already know who's in each foursome.
The Players tab
Click Players (under Setup) to manage individual player records. You'll see all players across all teams in a grid — click any cell to edit it in place. Changes save automatically.
Importing players from a CSV
Go to Players → Import
Click the Import button at the top of the Players tab.
Prepare your CSV
Include columns for First Name and Last Name at minimum. Optional columns: Company, Email, Phone, Handicap, GHIN Number, Shirt Size. Column names are matched flexibly — exact capitalisation is not required.
Upload and assign
After upload, players appear in the Players grid. Assign each player to a team using the team dropdown in their row, or use the Teams tab to drag players between teams.
Player types
Each player record has a type: Golfer (scores, counts toward the team), Non-golfer (attendee who doesn't score — useful for dinner guests or supporters), or Sponsor representative. Non-golfers and sponsors don't count toward team scores.
Handicaps and GHIN
Enter each player's handicap index manually on the Players tab, or enter their GHIN number and ScrambleSync will look it up automatically (requires GHIN integration to be configured). Handicaps are used for net scoring and Stableford calculations.
Frequently asked questions
Can players be on the same team but score individually?
Yes — for best-ball and individual formats, each player on the team scores their own ball hole by hole. For scramble, the team shares one score per hole.
What's the difference between Teams and Players tabs?
Teams manages the groups and their hole assignments. Players manages individual player details (name, handicap, email, etc.) and which team they belong to. Both tabs are under the Setup group in the sidebar.
Can I delete a player after check-in?
Yes, but checked-in status will be removed along with the player record. If scores have been entered for the team, deleting a player doesn't remove the team's scores.
