Join codes explained
Quick answer
Every team in ScrambleSync gets a unique short code (called a join code or access code). Golfers visit scramblesync.com/play, enter the code, and immediately get their digital scorecard — no account, no app download. Each code is unique to one team for one event.

What is a join code?
A join code is a short alphanumeric code (for example, A3K7R2) that is automatically generated for each team when you create or generate teams. The code is how golfers authenticate to their scorecard — no login, no password, just the code.
How golfers use a join code
Scan the QR code on their cart sign
The cart sign PDF includes a QR code for each team. Golfers scan it with their phone camera and land directly on their scorecard — no typing needed.
Or go to scramblesync.com/play
Golfers can also open a browser, go to scramblesync.com/play, and type their join code. This works if the QR scan isn't available.
Score and play
Once in, golfers see their scorecard, GPS yardage, live leaderboard, and any contests on their holes. No account creation or app download is needed.
Where to find join codes
- Teams tab — each team row shows its join code
- Tee Sheet PDF — lists every team with their code and starting hole (print one per volunteer or post at registration)
- Cart Signs PDF — each sign has the team's QR code (which encodes the join URL)
Sharing codes before the event
You can share join codes ahead of event day by texting or emailing them to team captains. The code works any time after the tournament is created — golfers can even enter practice scores before the round.
The join URL
The full join URL for a team is scramblesync.com/j/<code> (for example, scramblesync.com/j/A3K7R2). This is what the QR code on the cart sign encodes. You can also share this URL directly via text or email.
Frequently asked questions
Can two golfers on the same team both open the scorecard?
Yes. All players on a team can use the same join code simultaneously on different phones. Scores entered by one player update live for everyone using that code.
What if a golfer loses their code?
Look it up on the Teams tab and share it again. On event day you can read it from the Tee Sheet or from the team's cart sign.
Do codes work after the event is over?
Yes — golfers can view their final scorecard and the leaderboard using the code after the round ends. Scoring is locked once the organizer closes or archives the event.
