Track every team on the live course map
Quick answer
Open Course map in your event sidebar. Each team shows as a named marker on a satellite map, placed from its score-keeper's phone. The map refreshes about every 20 seconds. Tap a marker to see the team's score, how long ago its location updated, and a link to message the team.

Overview
The Course map shows the latest location of every team while play is on. A team appears once its score-keeper opens the scorecard and allows location sharing on their phone.
Who this is for
Organizers and course marshals running the day who need to see where each group is.
Read the map
Open Course map
In your event sidebar, under Live Day, click Course map. The map opens on your course in a satellite view with labels (Apple Maps hybrid). If the event has no course map area set, it centers on the clubhouse.
Find your teams
Each team is a marker with its name. Green means the location is recent. Grey means Stale. Amber means Location looks off.
Click a marker
A small card shows the team name, its score (for example +2 · thru 7, or Not started), and how long ago the location updated (for example updated 3m ago).
Message a team
Click Message this team → on the card. It opens Messages with that team already picked.
Check the bar under the map
It shows how many teams are located (for example 12 teams located), a Not on map yet list of teams that haven't shared a location, a Stale key, and Live, which means the map is refreshing on its own.
What the marker colors mean
| Marker | What it means |
|---|---|
| Green | The team's phone reported its location within the last 12 minutes. |
| Grey (Stale) | No update for more than 12 minutes. The team may still be playing. The phone is often locked or the page is in the background. |
| Amber (Location looks off) | The phone reported a spot more than 5 km (about 3 miles) from the course's clubhouse location. It is still shown, but treat it with care. The card says Location looks off — may be inaccurate. |
How often it updates
The map re-checks every 20 seconds, and sooner when a team's phone reports a new location (never more than once every 5 seconds). You don't need to reload the page.
Tips
- Ask score-keepers to allow location when their phone asks. Scoring works without it, but the team won't appear on your map.
- We keep only each team's latest location and delete it automatically within about two days after the round.
- A grey marker is a prompt to check in with the team, not proof something is wrong.
Troubleshooting
| If you see this | Try this |
|---|---|
| No course location set for this event yet | The event has no course chosen, so the map has nothing to center on. Choose a course when setting up the event. Team markers still appear on their own once score-keepers open their scorecards. |
| No team locations yet. Positions appear once score-keepers open their scorecards. | No team has shared a location yet. Make sure score-keepers have opened their scorecard and allowed location. |
| A team is listed under Not on map yet | Its score-keeper hasn't shared a location yet. Use the Messages tab to ask them to open the scorecard and allow location. |
| Map temporarily unavailable | Reload the page. If it stays, contact support. |
| A team is missing on a two-day event | The map shows only the day playing right now. Check the day in Settings and the team's Day on the Teams tab. |
| I don't see Course map in the sidebar | The tab isn't shown to check-in-only staff, or if Course map is turned off for your account. Ask an owner or manager. |
Frequently asked questions
Where does the location come from?
From the score-keeper's phone. It shares the team's location while the team is scoring, if the score-keeper allows it.
Can I see each golfer separately?
No. The map shows one marker per team, from the score-keeper's phone.
Does the map show scores?
Yes. Click a marker to see the team's score to par and how many holes it has played (thru), or Not started.
Why is a marker grey?
It hasn't updated for more than 12 minutes. The phone may be locked or the scorecard page may be in the background.
